Acklay - A surprisingly agile fury of sharp claws and pointed fangs, the vicious acklay
was one of the three arena creatures unleashed in the Geonosian execution arena, dispatched to
kill Anakin Skywalker, Padmé Amidala, and Obi-Wan
Kenobi. The Geonosian picadors steered the acklay toward Obi-Wan Kenobi, who was able to
outmaneuver the beast. A clumsy yet powerful strike from one of its claws sheered the chains that bound Kenobi. The beast
continued to pursue the Jedi Knight, rending large holes in the hard-packed sand with its vicious
stabs. It even shrugged off a pike attack, chomping through the offending polearm with bestial rage. When the execution erupted
into a gigantic melee between Jedi and battle droids, the acklay roamed the arena floor in a frenzy.
It still stalked Kenobi, who was finally able to silence its terrifying howls with skillful swipes of his lightsaber
blade.
Aiwha - Majestic cetaceans that can take to the air,
aiwhas can be
found in the churning oceans of the planet
Kamino, where they have been domesticated as mounts
by the native
Kaminoans. The creatures are strong swimmers, able to launch themselves from the
cresting waves and then continue their momentum in flight.

Bantha - Banthas are large, shaggy-furred quadrupeds with bright, inquisitive eyes.
A pair of long, spiraling horns grow from the skull of the male. On the desert world of Tatooine,
banthas are used as beasts of burden by moisture farmers, and as loyal pack animals by the savage
Tusken Raiders.
Blurrg - Blurrgs are dim-witted, tough-skinned reptilian herbivores used as riding animals and
beasts of burden by the Marauders of Endor. The egg-laying creatures produce five or six young
at a time. During their early years, they stay close to their mother for protection. Blurrgs communicate through a series
of low roars. Though not carnivorous, the blurrgs do have powerful jaws for rending apart trees and other hard plants. They
are often preyed upon by boar-wolves. Their simple intellect, awkward gait and odd appearance have
made them objects of derision in Ewok folklore.
Boar-Wolf - The boar-wolf, or borra, is a vicious predator native to the forest moon of Endor. Roughly three meters tall at the shoulder, the shaggy creatures have tusk-like teeth, a keen sense
of smell, and large, hooked claws. They often howl at the shining Endor planet in the night sky, and they typically hunt in
pairs. The Ewoks of Endor sometimes hunt these massive creatures, using traps and poisoned spears
to kill the dangerous predator. The Gorax of Endor is known to have borra as pets. A Gorax will
find a boar-wolf mother who has gone to ground in a cave to give birth to a litter. The Gorax then smashes open the whelping
place, kills the mother, and chooses a boar-wolf to take as a pet.
Boga - With its plunging sinkholes, layered city levels and sheer cliff-faces, the remote world
of Utapau can be difficult and hazardous to navigate. When Obi-Wan Kenobi
came to the planet in search of General Grievous, he relied on native know-how to scale the sinkhole
walls to track the droid general to his Separatist command center. Kenobi went to the pens where Utapaun
wranglers corralled native winged and wingless lizards for use as transports. From the livery he selected an obliging and
brave lizard named Boga, with a leather saddle strapped to her swaying back. She stood four meters tall at the shoulder, and
had a pebbled skin with an iridescent green and blue sheen. A crown of richly colored feathers fringed her head and neck,
trailing away from her beaked face and keen eyes. Her powerful limbs ended in five-toed feet, tipped with curved claws providing
excellent purchase on the sandstone surfaces. A long tail aided in balance and agility. Though a large creature, Boga had
a silent tread, quiet enough to sneak into the rafters of the tenth level compound of General Grievous. There, Obi-Wan was
able to confront the Separatist commander. As their duel erupted into a chase, Kenobi called for Boga and the loyal creature
carried the Jedi general in pursuit of Grievous. Her stride was swift enough to keep pace with
Grievous' wheel bike as it tore through the avenues of the sinkhole city. Boga was brave and trusting
enough of Kenobi's command to perform daring leaps and close with Grievous' dangerously spiked conveyance. When Order 66 was
enacted, Kenobi's clone trooper battalions turned on him. A laser turret targeted Boga. The near-miss
knocked the lizard and her rider off the cliff-side, sending both plunging into the sinkhole grotto.
Can-Cell - The primeval forests of Kashyyyk have fostered in them
life forms that grow far larger and far more dangerous than counterparts on other, more tamed worlds. A prime example is the
can-cell. It is an enormous insect, over three meters long, with gossamer wings that strobe an a fantastic rate, creating
a buzzing drone as it flits through the skies, trailing behind it a feathery tail. The insect is not dangerous, however. It
can be tamed by other species, and beings small enough have been known to ride them, such as Aleenan scouts and even fugitive
Jedi Masters.
Colo Claw Fish - Colo claw fish are immense underwater predators
that dwell in the porous caverns of the Naboo core. Natural phosphorescents give its eel-like skin
an eerie glow. They have flattened flukes for bodies, with a large toothy snout flanked by hooked grasping claws -- hence
the name.
Condor Dragon - A condor dragon is a flying, reptilian creature native to the craggy cliffs
of Endor's forest moon. The carnivorous reptavians have bony ridges along their spines, leathery
wings, two clawed legs, and piercing yellow eyes. Condor dragons have sharp vision, and a large fang for tearing through the
thick hides of its prey. Condor dragons are both nocturnal and diurnal. They tend to capture their prey alive, and take them
back to their cave eyries. Condor dragons have wingspans of approximately three meters.
Dactillion - The dactillion is a species of carnivorous reptile native to Utapau.
The winged four-legged lizard is capable of flight, and the native Utapauns have domesticated the
dactillion for use as a mount.
Dewback - Found on the desert planet Tatooine, dewbacks
are large lizards used by the locals as mounts and beasts of burden. These flat-toothed creatures can be found hauling goods
for merchants or moisture farmers, pulling Podracer parts to starting grids, or serving stormtrooper
patrols assigned to the planet's Imperial garrison. A dewback is able to withstand the heat and dust that often leads to mechanical
breakdown in modern high-tech conveyances.
Dianoga - What type of creature makes even the mighty Chewbacca tremble?
The resemblance of the dianoga to other fearsome creatures of the depths is not lost on cautious
Wookiees. The dianoga is a disgusting garbage parasite that infests the refuse systems of large
Imperial installations and warships. They can grow up to ten meters in size. The muddy-colored squid-like creature thrives
in dank environments, patiently waiting for morsels big enough to satisfy its appetite. The seven-tentacled creature ensnares
its prey and attempts to drag it into its hungry mouth.
Eopie - An eopie is a stubborn beast of burden found on the planet
Tatooine. This desert quadruped is renowned for its endurance, and is often pushed to the limit
by the denizens of the twin-sunned world. The sure-footed mammal has pale skin, a flexible snout, and a grumpy temperament
Falumpaset - Loud and odious beasts with tough skin and hardy builds, falumpasets
are found wandering the swamps and forests of Naboo. The native Gungans
use the animals as beasts of burden. Falumpasets haul battle wagons and the catapults of the Gungan Grand
Army into the battlefield, and Boss Nass uses a decorated falumpaset as a ceremonial transport.
Fambaa - A lumbering beast of burden favored by the Gungans of Naboo, fambaas are immense quadrupeds capable of hauling enormous cargoes.
The Gungan Grand Army uses fambaas as transports for their impressive shield
generators. A pair of fambaas travelling in single file each carries a necessary component for the generator to function.
Horax - Horaxes are enormous reptilian creatures native to the world of Nelvaan.
A fully grown horax stands over 15 meters tall at the shoulder. They are solidly built quadrupeds with thick, knobby skin.
The carnivorous reptile has a mouth filled with sharp teeth, but none are more impressive than the four enormous saber-like
fangs that protrude from the monster's maw. A horax has a set of shovel-like horns at the end of its snout, which it uses
to uproot entire trees and split open siltcrawler burrows to eat entire hibernating colonies whole. Horax tails are long,
heavy, lined with sharp spurs and end in a club of dense bone. Thankfully for the denizens of Nelvaan, horaxes are rare --
a dying breed not faring well with the climatic changes the planet is undergoing. Due to their huge size and territorial nature,
only one horax is ever encountered within a large area of the planet, and its size makes it easy to detect upon approach.
The native Nelvaanians of Rokrul village have discovered that a horax is repelled by the sent given
off by a special elixir made from the tail scales of the creature. One scale can produce enough of the pungent mixture to
paint a perimeter around their village that lasts an entire Nelvaanian year. This protective ring has become an important
element in the tribal culture of the Nelvaanians. Each year, young Nelvaanian males are sent to find a sleeping horax and
return with a tail scale. Doing such is a rite of passage, granting that Nelvaanian into the upper ranks of the village's
warrior scouts.
Ikopi - Ikopi are fleet-footed ungulates native to the swamps and
forests of Naboo. The sturdy-legged animals have golden coats of short fur, and grow a crown of
twisting antlers.
Kaadu - Marching from mist-filled swamps to challenge the Trade Federation
invasion of Naboo came the Gungan Grand Army, with militiagungs riding
atop their faithful kaadu. Like the cavaliers of countless primitive armies, the Gungan
soldiers have a special bond with their loyal mounts. At times of peace, the Gungans use the kaadu as patrol animals, policing
their city streets. Kaadu are swift-footed scaly-skinned wingless avians with strong legs and smooth bodies. Like their Gungan
masters, they have duck-billed snouts, colorful skin and aquatic ancestry. During the Battle of
Naboo, Gungan generals like Jar Jar Binks commanded their troops from atop kaadu, using the animal's
speed to avoid the Trade Federation battle tanks.
Kouhun - Small, silent, deadly arthropods, kouhuns are extremely
poisonous creatures employed by assassins who don't want to be traced. They can be delivered remotely, and instinctively seek
out the body heat of their target. Zam Wesell employed a pair of kouhuns in an assassination attempt
against Senator Padmé Amidala. She stowed the creepy creatures aboard her ASN-121
droid, and dispatched the floating mechanical to Padmé's Coruscant apartment. Cutting into her
bedroom window, ASN-121 released its deadly cargo. A sudden burst of Force-intuition alerted protector Anakin
Skywalker to the kouhuns' presence, and he stormed in and hacked the creatures to death with his lightsaber.
Krayt Dragon - Making the Jundland Wastes all the more dangerous
are immense reptiles stalking the craggy canyons in search of prey. These huge predators are known as krayt
dragons and their bone-chilling howl is enough to send even ferocious Sand People skittering
for cover.
